After experiencing nearly two years of watching Lord Dampnut systematically destroy the concept of reality within the white house, it's virtually impossible to support him. Not only is he gloriously stupid, but he's a narcissistic liar, doesn't care about truth, is completely self-aggrandizing despite his many failures, and is so immature my 15-year-old self would take one look at him and wonder how the fuck this moron is still able to breathe without the aid of machines.

I challenge anyone who actually supports him to go through every single one of those videos and systematically counter every single point that John Oliver brings up. I know it's a comedy news show in the same vein as Stephen Colbert or Jon Stewart, but even a small bit of research shows that - comedy or not - every criticism levied against your clown in office is entirely legitimate.

And that's not to mention the general disdain towards the political right:

Seriously, what the actual fuck is wrong with this world when this sort of person gets elected? You can go on about how you 'wanted to see change' and that you liked how he 'didn't talk like a politician', but that's like saying you used a pipe bomb to restructure your back deck because you didn't like how long it took to strategically deconstruct each board and plank individually.

Different does not mean better.

If you support trump, I genuinely want to know why because the only reasons I've heard are absolutely terrible, misguided, wrong, or stupid.

Wonderful quote from John Kerry concerning Trump: "He's got the maturity of an 8 year old boy with the insecurity of a teenage girl".

Interesting Story from the New York times concerning another myth about President Trump
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/10/02/us/politics/donald-trump-tax-schemes-fred-trump.html?pgtype=Homepage

The funny part is how Trump, his lawyer and even his brother try to deny this report but what they are not doing is trying to sue for libel. The article directly states that Trump and his siblings create shell companies to hide their gifted finances and I am sure if there was a shred of evidence to disprove this article, Trump and his lawyers would be having them in court. Instead you get the baseless claim of a hit piece which means nothing from the Trump since you can never really trust a word that comes out of his mouth.

Anyway we know there will be no suit because the Times has all the documentation on the events needed to support their case and their article.  If anything Trump and his lawyers will hope this goes away and there isn't a civil court filing on these allegations.  As President, this will mean nothing for him as long as he is in the office but out of office well, things could get sticky.

So Trump now claims that Congress is going to propose tax reduction on the middle class next week.

That's interesting. Congress isn't in session and won't be for several more weeks (Nov 13th). So it's impossible for them to propose anything next week. He's flat out lying about legislation now. Why is it so hard for him to tell the truth even on simple things?

Its not that Trump cannot tell the Truth, its that the Truth means nothing to him.  What I mean by that is as we have seen on countless times, Trump never do any research before opening his mouth or sometimes even making decisions.  Instead he will just say shit not caring if its true or not because for him Truth means nothing.  I am sure he made those statements not even knowing Congress wasn't going to be in session because actually checking such facts is beneath him.

It always boggles my mind why anyone would ever trust someone who just say shit never concerned if its true or not.

Edit: Was it you that posted about the bullshiter VS Liar.  Trump is the classic BS person.  A person who is always pushing BS are never concerned about the Truth.

As a resident of the US virgin islands. to hear him say Puerto Rico was an unsung success story is infuriating. WTF does this idiot live under a rock soo many of us are still struggling due to the hurricane.

The new form of information dissemination is based on social media where your purview is limited to the bubble you see on Facebook and other networks.  You have access to more information than ever before but yet most people  just have reinforced bubbles they operate in. This runs the gamete or political affiliations.  Worse yet, I have seen causes where people will actually unfriend someone with different views without ever attempting to understand their point of view.

Therefore, we live in a world where you can easily get information about whats really happening to Puerto Rico and still be so tuned in to your own bubble that if Trump says it was a success, then you don't do any further research to verify his claims.  That is frightening.  What is happening to people?

I hate to admit it, but I am losing faith in America's savior.

The problem is thinking that a savior is something real or actually required.  To be completely honest, here in America we have a unique situation where the government is truly a reflection of the people whether they know it or not.  We can literally save ourselves by choosing representatives that actually fight for us.  The problem is that politics itself is dishonest and sometimes being able to see beyond the surface is harder because the information we are given by these institutions is always curated to mask the true intentions of the officials or their backing. In order to circumvent this we have learn how to get past rhetoric.  We have build a coalition of honesty and back it more than we back a good reality entertainment show.

Best American President since I've been taking notice with a critical eye. So out of the three, Trump has been doing the best job. Now that he is targeting prescription medical costs, I'm dying to see how it goes as it's an industry that can very much side step political power with it's deep pockets. I'm really intereted to see how the people who keep ignoring his reform react if he manages to put these steps into place. Anyway, Anyone who manages to sort out North Korea, gets my favour, after a good three decades of US presidential missteps and repeatedly falling for the same tricks like dealing with a spoiled child. Absolutely brilliant work but not without his misteps also, just far fewer than other befor him. He is the first that hasn't fallen into a corporate shill yet he still manages to balance the peoples needs with corporate and the needs of capitalistic growth something the three before him couldn't manage only falling into selling not only the American people but people in the rest of the world to corporate interests. Hope he gets a second term and now the reat of the world can stop leaning on America to make decisions and we can give globalization the proper time to digest and not stick all of our eggs togetger into one basket in one lifetime.

How exactly has Trump sorted out NK.  I am actually very interested because so far I really haven't seen anything yet.  NK has promised to denuclearize plenty of times and never came through.  Exactly what is different today with Trump then in any other previous admin.  Hell, we even had signed agreements from them before which then reneged on compared to nothing today.  I am just wondering what is your knowledge on the situation because right now I haven't seen anything but a photo op.  Maybe you have more information then what I have been following.

I am also curious on how exactly has he balanced between corporate and needs and the need of the people.

If I get what you are saying in your last statement correct.  You are happy that Trump wants to remove the US from the global leadership stage and allow other nations to take the stage.  If anything that would mean, you view Trump policy as a means of US dominance diminishing then advancing.  Is this a correct assumption.

Indeed.

And now I read he is claiming that immigrants are rioting in California to get out of sanctuary cities and that the Central American caravan was created by the Democrats and is filled with Middle Eastern terrorists and MS-13 gang members.   He just lies and lies and lies and his base doesn't care because they want it to be true.

Better stated, they don't want truth, they want the lies to feed their own cognitive bias.

No its worst that that.  Its not Immigrants who are rioting, he said that conservatives in California are so upset about sanctuary cities, that the right has launched riots.  That whole exchange about the tax cuts and the riots really should make anyone start to worry about what the hell is going on with Trump.  Now usually I would straight up just call him a liar and leave it at that but now I am just wondering if the man is not taking his meds.  Each passing month it seems to get worst and worst as if his mental capacity nose diving into the abyss.  Either way, I have a prediction that by this time next year, his aids will try to make sure his appearances are very limited because he will be a total mental case.

I'm pretty sure he's making up anything he can that feeds off the fears of the right to build up support for the mid terms.  He's figured out he can say anything he wants and it won't hurt him so why not lie if it can wrap up the midterm elections for his party?

True, its not like he hasn't done that tactic before.  The thing is, I also some times believe he really is just losing it.  Since you cannot tell one from the other only time will tell if both just blended together.
