Switch crawls closer to the PS4 again, 3M seems to be the maximum advantage for the Playstation for now.

Really great thread and most importantly that you can go back and track the evolution of sales of every single week of each consoles. Great work!

Switch has the fall/holiday/Jan&Feb coming which is literally the best period against PS4 in the worst period. Switch Will certainly take over again and so might the ps4 right after.

Maybe this Will be the last months where the lead Will change.. who knows.

After the Nintendo direct I think Switch has a shot to keep up with Wii and even (gasp!) DS sales next year.

Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing and mainline Pokémon releasing the same year? A dozen Final Fantasy games dropping onto the Switch at that time, too? Interesting Mid-cards like Yoshi, Town and Daemon Ex Machina? Still room for some additional surprise Announcements? All check!

Switch slowly crawling back closer to the PS4

With the Switch entering the holiday season soon, is it possible that it can hold off being overtaken by the DS until after, when the DS comes into his holiday season? Which would also mean that the PS4 might get overtaken first btw.

This is a great thread!

Never knew the Wii had such a high tie ratio. I thought Microsoft was boasting about the 360's tie ratio throughout generation 7. I suppose it improves later on. On this this last chart it doesn't look that hot though.

Based on Nintendo's FY Goals and how they plan to move most of those 20m consoles after October, yea I think so.

Though, the DS has much higher quarterly sales after that holiday season, so it will probably pass the Nintendo Switch right after that. :P

But, who knows, maybe Nintendo will do better with momentum throughout FY Q1 and FY Q2 in 2019 rather than being so heavily skewed to FY Q3. (well, less skewed anyways...)

Depending on how 2019 goes, Switch might still be neck and neck with DS post next holidays as well.
