What a lame addition... We already have a ff7 representative, but nooooo! Guess another fire emblem fighter wannabe is never enough *sigh*

It's fucking SEPHIROTH!!! If you're not hyped by this, you just don't get it.

Besides, we need more Villain representation. All we've got are Bowser, Ganondorf, Dedede, K.Rool, Ridley, and Wolf.

Of course I get it. He is a fucking badass, one of the best villains of the gaming history.

The thing is... Regarding smash I value uniqueness over lore. In battle he definitely will blend with Fire emblem universe just like Terry Bogard with Street Fighter.

Final Fantasy 7 has a huge presence and his character is amazing I give you that. If we got a story mode like Subspace emissary, I would be thrilled

We reap what we sow

I'll get Min Min and Steve for now

Another year, another big load of fucking nothing from Bayonetta 3. Jesus. Between Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 .... I at least understand Prime 4, but come on man.

I hope Nintendo have more to show at the VGAs than just a Smash character and Wii U port, but I'm not getting my hopes up as their showings there have been kinda weak for the last few years.

Here you go, Curl!

A new MH Rise trailer!

Haha you know me well.

Honestly that alone was enough to satisfy me. It was a shame Nintendo themselves had nothing to show as far as new/upcoming games, I feel like they dropped the ball by not taking the opportunity to drop a new BOTW2 trailer or finally show Bayonetta 3, but no point dwelling on the negatives, it's not like I'm short of Switch games to play, they could release nothing first party at all in the first half of 2021 and I wouldn't run out of stuff between Age of Calamity, Doom Eternal, Immortals, Ori, Sniper Elite 4, Trine 4 DLC, and MH Rise.

Question

How is Astral Chain for the Nintendo Switch? Is it worth getting?

Meh

Story is fine though. Watch it on YouTube

Why watch a gameplay focused experience on Youtube exactly ?

Well, the only way to know the story without playing is to watch other people playing. I disagree with people here saying the story is not good

I found the story actually pretty nice and the universe is also interesting (or at least has some potential, I'm waiting for a sequel), that's why I advice him to watch it on YouTube

About the gameplay, being a debut IP it certainly has some major flaws. I think the game make a really poor job teaching you how to play, I remember I spent 4 days trying to beat a force-shielded chimera only because I had no idea how to disable it. I disagree the gameplay is intuitive at all, it's a mess. Over 30 hours in and I still don't know how to battle properly with the archery unit (which is stressing  because you need to use it to win some battles)

Indeed the game is make use of your units much better outside battle, as you can use them to solve mini puzzles in the maps and unlock some items

The chimera worlds is awfully designed, it's confusing, boring and repetitive and they are so conscious about that they created an Iris function to guide you, because it's virtually impossible to know where to go without it

It also has a very confusing investigation system that took me forever to realize its importance, and locked me for quite some time in some sort of mini games that I never know what exactly the game is rewarding me for doing them

Damn

It's the same guy who had to ask how to change the language setting in Xenoblade Chronicles, so him being confused by Astral Chain doesn't mean all that much. You can rest easy, raccoon.

In time. It worked and JP dub is much better than western's, so thank you I guess

I guess you actually meant the JP Dub instead of sub ...

Still, a rarity nowadays to find someone who prefers the JP Dub to the English one.

I'm used to JP voice acting from animes, overall I find them superior to english voice acting. Besides I like the idea of experiencing something in the language it was created that's why I don't watch movies (either animated or live action) dubbed in other languages, I would read mangas in japanese too if I could

There are very good english dubs for JP games though, Fire Emblem Three Houses comes to mind, I prefer English's, and the fact the actors were all over YouTube promoting the game made me enjoying even more their work
