While both are larger than the average man, it's not a huge difference and the ideal is certainly not the 8 inch by 6 inch meat bat that watching pornography would make you think the majority of women like.

Because those misconceptions can cause significant harm to the self image of men. Western culture in particular is bombarded by pornography of top 1 percentile guys satisfying women for long stretches of time, then there is the porn genre of women making fun of "small penis" guys, but even those guys aren't small, they are just porn small, the vast majority are well above the actual scientific average. Seeing nothing but big penises in pornography, and the only small penises aren't actually small yet are being made fun of by the actresses, these things have an effect on the psyche of many men, especially young men and teens who consume pornography, even those who are above the scientific average. In the 2000's alone the false misconceptions about penis size lead to the rise of Enzyte, a total snake oil product claiming to offer "male enhancement" which was advertised heavily on tv and ended up the subject of lawsuits with the owner of the company ending up in jail. But even today we still have many men who have a perfectly adequate size terrified that they are too small, buying various other male enhancement products and even going to plastic surgeons to get a lengthening surgery or inflatable girth implants. We need to end those misconceptions about size that has lead our society to this point. 

Above average, but certainly not huge. When I was a teen I obsessed over my size quite alot, like many teens do. Even though I started puberty young, at like 10, alot of my penis size growth didn't happen until my late teens, I was still growing some down there even at 19 and 20, and because of that late growth, and the viewing of internet porn as a teen, I got extremely worried about my size for quite some time and it really hurt my self esteem growing up. Even as an adult it has caused some self-esteem issues, because even though I'm above average I am tall and broad and it makes me look smaller down there than I often wish I was.

The average as found by over a dozen scientific/medical studies on penis size all across the world, which is around 5.3 inches long by 4.6 inches around. That average is slightly smaller than what Lifestyles condoms got in a study they did with Spring Breakers in Cancun one year, which was 5.8 x 4.9, though that study was reportedly conducted by young female nurses, so smaller guys might have been discouraged from showing up out of embarrassment, which would explain why they got a somewhat higher number than the medical studies.

But I am also larger than the often perceived average of 6 inches.

Not only is it erect, but it is also bone-pressed, meaning they push the ruler into the pubic bone to get the additional length of the penis that is hidden by a layer of fat in some men. I'll post you some of the studies below:

-2015 study by Brazilian Journal of Urology with over 15,000 people, which to my knowledge is the largest and most comprehensive penis size study using scientific testing methods (not self reporting) ever done, which combined the results of previous studies from all over the world taken over 30 years (worth noting that they found no correlation between penis size and race or nationality): Average is 5.17 inches long by 4.59 inches around. In a relative sense, I suppose so, even if 6 is small compared to most porn actors (who average around 8 inches). That Brazilian Journal of Urology study with the 15,000+ men found that only about 5% of men had a penis longer than 6.3 inches, and a porn sized penis is like 1-0.5% of the population. A really huge porn actor is like 0.01%.
