As for the poll, I vote no, since you can easily just search it up yourself to see who got banned recently. Not really necessary to have the mod reports

Bans are documented in mod history, it doesn't help the mods to create a thread every week to "document" the bans when they're all in one place to begin with.

But that can't be accessed by users. I think we have a right to see how the rules are being enforced.

Because of the way everything is listed on the page it does take a while to put together a list of all of the bans. It takes longer if you omit the alt and spam messages because you have to do that manually. Unless the mod chooses to just rewrite everything which would probably take even more time. 

 

Keep all bans then and the mod than bans the least prinz alts has to do the weekly/monthly report.

Sounds fair to me :p

In that case the mod team would have to add links for all bans that aren't already obvious from the type of ban.

If you have a high interest in seeing how rules are enforced, you could use the "search users" function with "banned" and "last logged in" every few days. Clicking on a username then shows the exact ban reason on their profile.

That's not very practical. If the mods are prepared to make a list then why should we be against it?

Like it should be, if you have issues with how the rules are being inforced then take that up with the mod team. We don't need x amount of threads with x amount of backseat moderating on why you disagree on x ban for x user.

I think that's a little OTT. 

Anyway, complaints will be selfcontained within one thread.

I think being completely transparent on mod history is a good thing. It's also healthy to debate issues about bans.

Because I'd rather have that time spent on something of more value. Compiling a long list of bans with lots of links that only a few users will really read is a waste of time.

I understand that but there must be quiet periods and I'm assuming all mods don't have to be on deck all times. I suppose it also depends how the bans are logged and how hard it is to transfer to a post.

If it takes a long time then for the mods sanity they shouldn't do it.

No, bringing back the ban thread is a bad idea. If new mods come in, we don't need another instance of a mod going ban happy to rake in the amount of times banned. It only fosters negative discussion from what I've seen. What's the point? As Versus said, it's only purpose is to shame other people. I mean you can see what users are banned by going to the main tools and clicked under banned. It shouldn't be a public thing.

Does that really happen? Do mods go ban crazy to rack up a score? Did this happen in the last ban thread?

There was a specific mod who came into one of the threads bragging about a "high score." I will not call him out in here but there was a big ordeal over it because the community thought we were promoting this idea.

Probably a joke taken out of context right? 

What are your thoughts on a ban thread, from a mods pov?
