The show as a whole was very hit or miss until that banger of a Main Event. Seriously, that was one of the best Women's matches I have ever seen!

One thing I think that needs to be brought back is the art of the promo. Notice how the Rock speaks in very short/concise catchphrases and disses, and tells stories with them? This is the way to do it for babyfaces.
It's the heels that are meant to deliver the drawn out promos with the actual substance. If a babyface does it, they're going to get booed soon.

Wrestling fans aren't too stupid to understand long winded promos (see Triple H in 2000), but they love the short phrases they can easily recall to memory word for word.

Oh, and Jason Jordan is now President of WWE.
Just more WWE nepotism bullshit! :D

Just out of curiosity, will anyone be watching Rampage tonight?

Oh man...

That will go down as one of the greatest moments in wrestling history!

CM PUNK IS BACK!!!!!!!!

I watched it. Seeing punk back was great, but the rest of the show... kind of sucked. For some reason Luchasaurus helped one of the guys on Private Party do a double team move on Jungle Boy, his own fucking partner. A double team move that was ridiculously dangerous, and then didn't even end the match. Kiera Hogan got squashed in her AEW debut by someone who is probably going to paralyze someone in the near future. The main event was ok. Five minutes later, I can't remember a single thing about it. Which on the bright side means they didn't do anything stupid, but also means they didn't do anything memorable. A little baffling they didn't decide to have Punk come out at the end and share the ring with Darby.

I like CMPunk and love Daniel Bryan, but if the rest of the AEW stays the way it's been, that's not enough for me to tune in.

Hmmm, maybe there’s something to this AEW thing after all. I saw the clip of CM Punk’s return, that did NOT look like another TNA/RoH type production. I think this might be the real deal. I guess I’ll be checking out some AEW shows after all.

EDIT

While he didn't say Renee directly organized the hook-up, he went as far as saying she got him hooked on wrestling again. I can see political issues if he did say she got him the hook-up whether or not she had involvement. Only that it would be a logical connection.

I watched my first episode of AEW Dynamite.

It reminded me a lot of the WWE Attitude era, except with some bigger moves… even some of the same guys were there. I’m not really sure all of the dynamics, who’s supposed to be the mega-heel, what the storylines are. I’m sure I’ll pick it up in time.

CM Punk’s debut reminded me a lot of Chris Jericho’s on RAW back in 99… except like 30 times louder.

I haven’t seen NXT in a while since WWE Network mysteriously stopped working for me a couple years back. I will say that I think the NXT wrestling is of a considerably higher caliber. Although AEW is significantly better than RAW/Smackdown. Production value of AEW is like Attitude era WWE, it’s a lot higher than the current RAW/Smackdown stuff. Not sure if it’s “PG” because there was blood and they were much more free about their language, but not quite Attitude era level, they didn’t have guys like Jerry King Lawler calling his opponents fags.
