Nobody, but Microsoft knows how well Halo sold digital.

so 30% digital launch digital sales. incredible

Bear in mind that all retail LE Halo 5 sales and Halo 5 bundles are counted as 'Digital', so apples/apples comparisons to your typical "20%" titles are impossible.

That said, if we get some good leaks on H5 bundle sales and LE edition sales from the NPD guys, we might be able to approximate things.

By my own estimates I think the actual DD number of people not getting the game from a store in an LE package or Halo 5 X1 bundle would be more like 25% or less.

nahh npd is 935k including digital bundle copies

otherwise the ratio would be even bigger

NPD doesn't officially count Bundles though in the software rankings. So every Halo 5 bundle sold is a digital 'sale' of Halo 5, even if the Halo 5 bundle didn't sell super well.

they do not include them in the top 10 fihures, but they count every hardware bundle seperately
and that 935k number from insiders include then 120k bundle copies, or whatever the number was. i do not remeber.

Gonna tag this shit so hard. This should be fun.

You should clarify for software that for software "retail only" includes hardware bundles with digital download codes.

It should also be noted that VGC software includes games in official bundles, whereas NPD does not count games in official bundles. Therefore a substantial discrepancy between VGC and NPD for software doesn't always mean a true error when official bundles make up part of a game's sales.

Standard footnotes to the OP each month perhaps.

At the moment I tend to favour what Amazon is telling us: that PS4 won November, but I'm 70/30 confident of that. So I give Xb one somewhat if a chance. Man there will be some serious gloating and crow being served if that happens.

There are some things from Japan that don't need to be successful everywhere. This is one of them.

I really hope 3DS did better than that, those numbers aren't looking good

While I do hope the numbers are higher, I would brace for them not being much different.  Last year the 3DS had the system sellers of Smash 3DS and Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire while this fall it didn't get much outside of Tri Force Heroes and Super Mystery Dungeon.

3DS had a pretty solid fall lineup of small-medium sized games.

September 25-Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

October 9-Chibi-Robo!:Zip Lash

October 23-The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes

November 6-Yokai Watch

November 20-Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon

But ur right, 3DS really lacked a big holiday title, 2011 had Super Mario 3D Land & Mario Kart 7, 2012 was a bit disappointing with just Paper Mario, 2013 had Pokémon X/Y & Link Between Worlds, 2014 had Smash Bros 3DS & Pokémon OR/AS.

I was actually hoping to see some really nice New 3DS deals for black Friday but most retailers just had it $20 off which isn't significant enough to convince people who weren't already going to buy it at $199. Hopefully December has some nice deals as it gets closer to Christmas, otherwise it will likely be another disappointing month.
