This is going to be the biggest clash of First-Person shooters!!!


Who do you think will take the throne, and prevail?

Halo 3 Vs. Gears of War Vs. Metroid Prime 3 Vs. Resistance: Fall of Man

Well, Gears of War and Resistance: Fall of Man have already come out, so we know more about those two games than Metroid Prime 3 and Halo 3. Personally, I think Gears of War is better than Resistance: Fall of Man. Even the reviews agree with me. Now, I think Halo 3 is going to push Gears of War off the top of the ladder, and steal its trophy as best First-Person shooter. Not only is it going to be almost 2 years newer (which leaves room for graphical supremecy), but also because... Well... It's Halo 3! Must I say any more? As for Metroid Prime 3, seeing the reviews of previous Metroid games on the Gamecube, almost totally equal that of Halo (little more or little less), it is really going to be hard to say which game is going to be better. Both games are in the exact same category, so it will be a perfectly fair match. Halo 3 should win in the graphics department, and Metroid Prime 3 should win with controls.

Anyways, this is how I think it's going to end:

1. Halo 3
2. Metroid Prime 3
3. Gears of War
4. Resistance: Fall of Man

All four games will be wonderful, but I think Halo 3 will edge it out at the very end.

What are your opinions?

The Halo games seem to be consistent sellers so I have a feeling Halo 3 will come out on top.  Gears of War has done well for itself and I think as the 360's userbase grows the sales will continue.  Metroid Prime 3 should do well (definately above a million) but I think it will have to make noise to be heard above Nintendo's other big games coming on the Wii.  That and I really don't think the majority of the Wii fanbase will be into that kind of game.  I can't see the people who bought it for Wii Sports and Wii Play and games like that really getting into MP3.  Resistance is from the reviews I've read pretty good unfortunately it came out at a time when the PS3's installed base is relatively low.  By the time that installed base grows there will likely be bigger and better fps on the PS3.

Halo games aren't really the best quality FPS. GoW and Metroid have that area covered. I HATE Halo Multiplayer. It is always LAGGY. But Halo sells... Resistance is too no name. It isn't an established franchise like the others, but I have never played it either. PS3 doesn't have the installed base to make Res anything special either. Resistance 2 might be good, or Killzone 2. Neither one of them have the fanbase though. Killzone 1 was kinda launch console suckage. Judging by the reviews that is. GoW has a chance at outselling Halo 3 but I doubt it. I think Legend has the order perfect. Who knows though. Nintendo is getting a good strong installed base. It might just out sell one of them.

Resistance against Halo or GoW? Are you kidding? Killzone 2 is a Sony's answer for Halo.

Bioshock isn't traditional enough, and 360 already have 2 FPS in there.... It doesn't need more. Crysis... doesn't have a proven fanbase. Also it's another damn 360 FPS.... 360 has too damned many FPS....

Gears of War is not FPS. Review-wise, MP3 could win, but Halo 3 will sell definately the most. I think Gears of War is more of a tech demo and online-game than an in-depth single player experience. Resistance tries to win on all fronts but fails.

Bioshock is also coming out for the PC. Crysis may not have a proven fanbase, but Resistance does? And who the hell said that Crysis is coming out for the 360? If anything, in terms of graphics, Crysis will be above Halo 3.

The first Killzone sucked, so I wouldn't say it's certain that it's better than Resistance: FoM.

Yeah, but then Guerrilla Games was still independent. Who knows how they will now fare under Sony. And you can't deny that the buzz Killzone made at E3 '05 isn't still lingering. I bet everyone across the board is curious if they can deliver.
