Forums - Gaming Discussion - Command and Conquer 3 on PS3 and Wii?

Just give me Starcraft (1) on the Wii as an online title, and I'll be happy ;)

Just give me an RTS on a PC and call it a day. I don't know about playing an RTS on the Wii. It seems to me that the nature of RTS games (long periods of gameplay) combined with the nature of the Wii (physical involvement in playing) don't really make for a good combo. The Wiimote works well for FPS games, but in one sitting I rarely find myself playing an FPS nearly as long as I do an RTS.

physical movement, ... wtf. It's the same thing, you move your mouse to control almost everything is the same thing as moving the wiimote. The buttons on the wiimote/nunchuck could make up the difference for advanced options the the keyboard did, not quite as many shortcuts but hey, it would be much better than the common console controller. Plus I have played Civ 4 to death as well as RoN2 and AoE3 and nothing on these games surpass the Wii's capabilities. Sure keyboard/mouse will always be best for RTS and FPS, but the Wii prove itself as a best 2nd option.

C&C3 on the wii can be very interesting let's pray they port it - i want to give the wiimote a try !

Low res RTS for the...loss.  You need to see more on the screen.  Also, a keyboard proves shortcuts that a Wiimote wouldn't.  I wouldn't mind seeing it on the PS3 as long as it supported keyboard/mouse, even though I prefer Blizzard RTS.

Anyone know if the 360 version supports keyboard/mouse?

what a pleasant surprise, if it is not just a port, and good too control.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Even though i have a Wii and i like Rts... thanks, but no thanks.

Nothing's cheaper than something free.

F1 vs FOTA, when too much power is in couple peoples hands.

It'd be low-res on the Wii, but I'm sure there's plenty of developer tricks to make the on-screen action wide enough to not be a chore. And people are implying that an RTS with a Wiimote would be a cool experience compared to a gamepad, not a mouse. I agree...it might not work out too well, but I think some sorts of RTS games might be pretty cool with a Wiimote.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

erm, starcraft was a pretty low res game, but I don't remember people complaining too much about it. RTS's have been done on consoles before, and apart from the gamepad always worked fine. Why is it suddenly impossible on the Wii?

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

Gonna rent C&C3 soon. BFME2 was fantastic on 360, so I know C&C3 can be done well. The issue with the Wii is that it'd be severely neutered from the PS3/X360 version. Heck, I wonder how well World in Conflict and/or Supreme Commander would be on PS3/X360 (make it happen please)

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
