I can't even handle the controls on the 360 when I tried it, on the Wii? I'll pass...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Wait...you're under the impression that a console that can actually utilize a point, click, and drag control scheme wouldn't be viable for RTS games? Seriously? *boggle*

Yeah I would think it would be better on the Wii as far as controls go. Much more like keyboard mouse than anyone else.

RTS games rely on a high resolution to cram lots of units/information onto the screen though, that might not work so well on the Wii.

God, you remind me of the people who think that an FPS on the Wii works better than on the PC... mouse over point and click wiimote for RTS any day of the week...

I am not going to fault the Wii for its control scheme because it certainly offers a unique experience, but I think both FPS and RTS games would be nothing short of painful based on my time with the system.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Dragging and dropping units would be awesome with the remote. Could use the nunchuck for moving around the camera, and the A or B button to select areas and such. I don't see how that would be bad. I hope lhat if there is a port of this game, the devs do a good job on the control scheme and don't worry about the graphics so much. I'd much rather have a good control than pretty graphics.

You want to try that reading comprehension thing? He said that the Wii is viable interface for RTS, he never said ANYTHING about it being better than mouse.

However, implied in his post is that the Wiimote would be better than a gamepad, which I think should be obvious to anyone.

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

I wouldn't call C&C3 a great looking game. I mean games that came out 2 years ago blow this one out of the water like AOE3 for instance. I mean you can play this on a budget video card from 5 years ago why would the Wii not be able to handle this at a reduced resolution in all its original glory? Also Starcraft was released on the N64 and although the resolution left little on the screen it was still fun.
