The purpose of the Discussion Thread is to discuss and talk about our own top 50 games as well as other poster's top 50 games. Here's a couple of rules:

  • All discussion is to be posted in this thread. The Official Thread is only for posting our lists.
  • I encourage everyone to ask questions and spark discussion. These are our favorite games of all time after all, and don't be shy to tell others why a certain game is so great... or to ask another user why his/her game made it on the list. The more discussion the better!
  • That said, please keep things civil and fun. There is no room in this thread for flaming others or trolling games/systems. Doing so will result in immediate moderation.

Other than that, feel free to talk about anything and everything! Have fun! ^_^

I've completely revamped my list. :) Checking last year's official thread will reveal almost no hints to what I have in store this time. *evil laughter*

So, my #50 game was released in five separate parts, but received immense critical acclaim as a whole. Tell me, fellow users, what is it?

... and tagging this. I haven't even begun thinking up my list yet and likely won't have time until tomorrow, ups.

Big changes this year; I'm removing my self-imposed ban of only two games per franchise. So expect lots of games in the same series on here :P

#50. The Walking Dead (PC)

In the seventh generation I've had a change of heart regarding "interactive narratives", and that's partly due to The Walking Dead. Telltale told a gripping narrative about survival and trust, made several times more impactful through the "chose your own adventure" narrative style. It's not about killing zombies. It's not meant to ape Hollywood. It's a good, grounded story with decent mechanics and a tense atmosphere. And that's why I greatly appreciate it.

I'll try to make this a daily thing. It's more fun that way.
