Well the ps5 looks like it was designed by Alienware

I can't wait for a teardown of the console. It looks almost too thin for the announced hardware power, really hope they don't redo the same error Microsoft did with their 360. RRoD, anyone?

Yea it is fairly slim and tall but it is only 36 CUs and Ryzen but granted clocked crazy high. We will see though but I think it should be fine.

Nice. RE:8, Project Athia and Pragmata are must buys for me. Ghostwire looks interesting.

Oddworld looks pretty good as well, but haven't played any of those since the PS1 days.

As I thought, most PS5 "exclusives" are only console exclusives, and most are timed. This only reafirms my stance that consoles are only worth getting for their 1st/2nd party games, not the multiplats.

And talking about the ^S5, I saw on another forum someone saying that it looks like a router with two sheets of paper, and then came this:

Router or a fridge...those are choices for next gen consoles, aesthetically speaking.

It's time for the Friday news:

Resident Evil is Capcom's first series to surpass 100 million sales
https://www.pcgamer.com/resident-evil-is-capcoms-first-series-to-surpass-100-million-sales/
The Resident Evil series has become the first in Capcom's 40-year history to exceed 100 million sales, the publisher has announced, infesting the world with zombies and mutants.
Along with seven main games, the series has spawned numerous spin-offs, episodic games and most recently some remakes. It's more lively than ever, and in just the last few years we've had the excellent Resident Evil 7, which returned to the series' slow-burning survival horror roots, but with a first-person perspective, and remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, the first of which we hailed as the best remake of 2019.

The new Humble Bundle features F1 2019, Dirt Rally 2.0, and an Operation Flashpoint game
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-new-humble-bundle-features-f1-2019-dirt-rally-20-and-an-operation-flashpoint-game/
You might expect that the Humble Codemasters Bundle 2020 would be all about cars. Racing games of various sorts is what the company is known for, after all. And you'd be close to correct—but not quite spot-on.
The entry-level $1 tier gets you Grid Autosport and Toybox Turbos, both racing games. But you'll also get Overlord 2, the game of being evil, and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, the game that sparked a trademark beef with Bohemia Intearctive in 2009.
Beat the average price, and you'll add F1 2018 and the Headline Content DLC Pack, Dirt Rally, Dirt 4, and the Hyundai R5 Rally Car and Team Booster DLC packs. And at the top tier of $15 or more, you'll tack on the excellent racing games F1 2019 and Dirt Rally 2.0. (Seriously, check out those review scores.)
>> And at the Humble Store there's a Monster Hunter World weekend sale , with up to 34% discounts for the next 3 days; https://www.humblebundle.com/store/promo/monster-hunter-world-franchise-weekend/

Friday news, part two:

Don't Starve Together gets a new character and his dog next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/dont-starve-together-gets-a-new-character-and-his-dog-next-week/
Klei's Don't Starve Together is getting a new playable character next week, as Walter and his… dog?... Woby take to the Constant.
Walter's big selling point is his incredible psychological fortitude. He won't lose any sanity unless he is damaged. Once he is below 100 percent HP, though, his sanity will gradually decrease. As a scout, he can also build a portable tent to provide shelter, and he is a lot faster when cooking over a fire than other characters. He can also tell stories at campfires to restore sanity to his fellow survivors, which seems like the opposite of what telling camp stories is for to me, but whatever. He's got a dog!

The Iron Oath is a party-based tactical RPG where time and choices matter
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-iron-oath-is-a-party-based-tactical-rpg-where-time-and-choices-matter/
After raising more than double its $45,000 on Kickstarter, the old-school tactical-RPG The Iron Oath is set to arrive on Steam later this year. A new gameplay trailer that appeared during today's IGN Summer of Gaming livestream served up a closer look at what it's all about.

Foreclosed is a third-person cyberpunk shooter with a graphic novel style
https://www.pcgamer.com/foreclosed-is-a-third-person-cyberpunk-shooter-with-a-graphic-novel-style/
Identity theft is no joke in real life, and it appears even more serious in the world of Foreclosed, a third-person shooter coming next year from Antab Studios.
In the cyberpunk world of Foreclosed, Evan Kapnos has had his identity repossessed by a powerful corporation, along with all his implants, and they're about to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Check out the trailer above, which premiered on IGN's Summer of Games today.

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time looks like a PS2 game, in a good way
https://www.pcgamer.com/samurai-jack-battle-through-time-looks-like-a-ps2-game-in-a-good-way/
Samurai Jack is a time traveler with a sword, which is basically the perfect setup for a videogame. The time travel promises tons of variety in settings and enemies, and the sword promises you can cut things. It's kind of wild, then, that the last time someone made a Samurai Jack game was in 2004, on the PlayStation 2 and GameCube. This new game, Battle Through Time, really evokes that PS2 era feeling in a way I dig.

Humble Bundle launches the $1M Black Game Developer Fund

Last week, Humble Bundle announced plans to set up a $1 million fund intended to help publish games by black developers. Today it officially unveiled the Black Game Developer Fund, an annual program that will provide "funding, production, and marketing support via Humble's publishing label."

Star Renegades gameplay video has that indie neon glow we love so much
https://www.pcgamer.com/star-renegades-gameplay-video-has-that-indie-neon-glow-we-love-so-much/
If the Xbox 360 era of videogame art direction was characterized by brown and olive war games, today we're in the era of the bright-ass indie games that pop off the screen with complimentary color schemes. It's the pulp magazine cover look, and I am very fond of it.
As apparent from a new gameplay video (embedded above), Star Renegades has that cool, neon pixel art style down. It's a "tactical strategy rogue-lite RPG" from developer Massive Damage (published by Raw Fury) that we learned about back in March, and it'll see multiple generations taking on an evil empire in tactical combat.

Stray is a stunning looking game about a cat in a world full of robots
https://www.pcgamer.com/stray-is-a-stunning-game-about-a-cat-in-a-world-full-of-robots/
Today, Sony finally unveiled many of the games coming to the PlayStation 5 when it launches later this year—but a few of them are probably coming to PC, too. One of those that is confirmed for PC is Stray, a new game from developers BlueTwelve Studio that's being published by Annapurna Interactive. The trailer, which you can watch above, is brief and didn't show much in terms of actual gameplay, but the premise is intriguing.

Jett: The Far Shore is a space odyssey by the makers of Sword and Sworcery
https://www.pcgamer.com/jett-the-far-shore-is-space-odyssey-by-the-makers-of-sword-and-sworcery/
Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery was a weird-ass and seminal indie game that's almost a decade old now. But I can still remember it perfectly. Hopefully the next game by the team at Superbrothers will leave just as much of an impression, and judging by the trailer shown at Sony's PlayStation 5 press conference I have a feeling it might.
It's called Jett: The Far Shore, and it seems to be a space exploration game with a very unique look. Just like Sword and Sworcery, it has a desaturated by striking aesthetic. It's not clear exactly what you do in the game, but I'm intrigued by the long shots of a spaceship gliding over tumultuous oceans and alongside giant alien skeletons. You can watch the trailer above to see for yourself.

Demon's Souls is getting a remaster, but no word yet on a PC release
https://www.pcgamer.com/demons-souls-remastered-pc/
At long last, the game that started From Software's Souls series is getting a makeover. A Demon's Souls trailer was just shown off at Sony's PS5 reveal event. It's being worked on by Bluepoint Games and Japan Studio, with no mention of From Software in the trailer.

Surprise! There's yet another news post:

Goodbye Volcano High will probably make a few of us cry
https://www.pcgamer.com/goodbye-volcano-high-will-probably-make-a-few-of-us-cry/
Goodbye Volcano High is a "cinematic narrative" game from developer KO_OP, an artist owned studio that previously brought us Lara Croft GO: The Mirror of Spirits and some interesting oddities like GNOG. This one stars anthropomorphic animals in a high school drama about "the end of an era" and "the start of a love story."

https://www.pcgamer.com/solar-ash-is-a-dizzying-adventure-from-the-hyper-light-drifter-developers/

Little Devil Inside's beautiful new trailer is filled with giant monsters and one tiny little dump
https://www.pcgamer.com/little-devil-insides-beautiful-new-trailer-is-filled-with-giant-monsters-and-one-tiny-little-dump/
The last time we covered Little Devil Inside was way back in 2015, when the gorgeously adorable survival RPG was crowdfunding on Kickstarter. It's obviously made some ground since then, as developer Neostream showed off a new trailer today at Sony's Playstation 5 presentation. Watch it above.

Abe finds his voice in a new Oddworld: Soulstorm trailer
https://www.pcgamer.com/abe-finds-his-voice-in-a-new-oddworld-soulstorm-trailer/
A new Oddworld: Soulstorm trailer rolled out today at Sony's big PlayStation 5 online event, showcasing a game that creator Lorne Lanning said during the stream will feature "an emotionally engaging story, where rescuing is rewarding, failure is devastatingly hilarious, and the memories should last you a lifetime."

Destiny 2 drops skill-based matchmaking from most PvP modes
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2-drops-skill-based-matchmaking-from-most-pvp-modes/
The big Destiny 2 news this week was the launch of Season of Arrivals and the reveal of the next expansion, Beyond Light. (And the insta-kill grenade launcher, I suppose.) But big things are happening in the Crucible, too. Bungie announced today that it's removed skill-based matchmaking from all of the game's PvP playlists except Elimination, Survival, and Survival: Freelance.

Dauntless's latest update puts you up against the spooky monsters of the void
https://www.pcgamer.com/dauntlesss-latest-update-puts-you-up-against-the-spooky-monsters-of-the-void/
Dauntless's battles typically play out across some lush floating islands, but its latest update, Call of the Void, is notably darker (and more purple). The update, which launched today, introduces a new behemoth called Thrax, who's waiting out there in the void for you to come throw down.

Bugsnax looks like a weird Pokémon with edible creatures
https://www.pcgamer.com/bugsnax-looks-like-a-weird-pokemon-with-edible-creatures/
It's been a while since we heard anything from Octodad developer Young Horses, but last night it finally revealed what it's been working on: Bugsnax. It's a narrative-driven romp set on an island full of weird creatures that are part bug, part snack.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer is free for Warzone players this weekend
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-multiplayer-is-free-for-warzone-players-this-weekend/

Ubisoft's Gods & Monsters was briefly playable on Stadia
https://www.pcgamer.com/ubisofts-gods-and-monsters-was-briefly-playable-on-stadia/
Gods & Monsters, Ubisoft's mythological RPG, doesn't have a release date yet, but yesterday it went live on Stadia, allowing a few hundred people to play for 30 minutes.
Stadia users spotted a new game on the store named Orpheus, but when they started playing they were instead treated to a very early build of Gods & Monsters, full of unfinished assets and lots of stand-ins from Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.

Time to finish the news with the GOG and Steam deals for the weekend:

+GOG

+Steam

And now we're really done. Until next time, have a happy and gaming weekend.
