Monday news, part two:

Final Fantasy 12 update finally removes Denuvo, adds console-exclusive features
https://www.pcgamer.com/final-fantasy-12-update-finally-removes-denuvo-adds-console-exclusive-features/
We rejoiced when Final Fantasy 12 finally made it to PC in 2018, and since then the HD remaster has also been released on the Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch, with some exclusive features. Until today, the PC version's only exclusive feature was the inclusion of unpopular DRM Denuvo. In a new patch, Square Enix has quietly removed Denuvo and added in those features that were previously only available in the more recent console ports.

Final Fantasy 14's main story is getting streamlined in its summer update
https://www.pcgamer.com/final-fantasy-14s-main-story-is-getting-streamlined-in-its-summer-update/
Final Fantasy 14 is an excellent MMO with some of the best storytelling out of any game in the series, but the first 50 levels are a drag compared to the much cooler expansions. That's why Square Enix announced last year that it was planning to overhaul the original story of A Realm Reborn, shortening it and removing a lot of the grind so that new players can get to the good stuff much quicker. And, during a developer livestream, director Naoki Yoshida revealed that overhaul was coming in the next major update.

The new Overwatch update was recorded on a phone taped to a box in Jeff Kaplan's house
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-new-overwatch-update-was-recorded-on-a-phone-taped-to-a-box-in-jeff-kaplans-house/
The latest Overwatch developer update has a bit more of a casual look to it than we usually see, because it comes to us from a corner of Jeff Kaplan's house, apparently recorded on a phone taped to a box. Despite the junktech setup, the recording quality is perfectly fine (Kaplan looks a little rougher around the edges than usual, but who among us does not these days), and the update delivers some welcome news about changes coming to the Overwatch communications wheel.

New Dwarf Fortress will have graphics for its crazy randomly generated monsters
https://www.pcgamer.com/new-dwarf-fortress-will-have-graphics-for-its-crazy-randomly-generated-monsters/
One of the absolute best parts of fantasy world simulation Dwarf Fortress are the randomly generated monsters. These creatures are unique, always created from a weird list of bizarre traits and odd quirks, and some are downright bizarre. Reading the descriptions has previously been the only way to really understand them… until now. The upcoming Steam version of Dwarf Fortress will have graphics, yes, and that includes generated graphics for all the bajillion randomly generated creatures.

MechWarrior 5’s DLC is delayed, but will be expanded
https://www.pcgamer.com/mechwarrior-5s-dlc-is-delayed-but-will-be-expanded/
Mechwarrior 5’s first DLC will be a longer time coming than initially promised. According to developers Piranha Games the Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC won’t be coming out in the first half of this year. Originally scheduled to release this month, then pushed back to June, the DLC has been pushed to a release later this year due to work from home restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. “As a result of all these changes, it’s unlikely that we’ll be releasing the enhanced career mode DLC in the first half of this year,” said a statement posted by Piranha Games. However, the expansion’s release will include a larger amount of new content than originally planned due to the extended development time.

A Tintin videogame is in the works
https://www.pcgamer.com/a-tintin-videogame-is-in-the-works/
Hergé's boy reporter/explorer hero Tintin, who appeared in comics from the 1920s onward, has also appeared in videogames ranging from a DOS-era sidescroller (Tintin on the Moon) to an adaptation of the actually quite good Steve Spielberg movie from 2011. French publisher Microids, responsible for last year's Blacksad adaptation, have announced that they'll be releasing a new Tintin game they're calling an "action-adventure", which will also feature characters from the comics like Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, detectives Thomson and Thompson, and Snowy the dog.

Post-apocalyptic city builder Endzone: A World Apart stands out through difficulty
https://www.pcgamer.com/post-apocalyptic-city-builder-endzone-a-world-apart-is-hard-and-thats-good/
Endzone: A World Apart is a post-apocalyptic city building game focused on survival in the aftermath of a nuclear disaster. It’s a survival city builder, one with an emphasis on gathering resources and setting up sustainable production of food and water over concerns like traffic flow. There are a lot of post-apocalyptic city-building games vying for your attention all of a sudden, but one has come to my attention because unlike all those other games I’ve tried, in this one I disastrously failed to thrive. As a veteran of city-building and survival games, that’s thrilling.

Minimal Affect is a Mass Effect parody that doesn't look promising
https://www.pcgamer.com/minimal-affect-is-a-mass-effect-parody-that-doesnt-look-promising/
Swedish studio Toadman Interactive have announced Minimal Affect, a cover-shooter space RPG that, yes, is intended to be a parody of Mass Effect. "But wasn't Andromeda already a parody of Mass Effect?" I hear you typing in the comments. Ha ha. Well done.
>> By the looks of it, it can end up being great or awful, with no in-between.

Gangs of goofy aliens have invaded GTA Online
https://www.pcgamer.com/gangs-of-goofy-aliens-have-invaded-gta-online/
There are quite a few nods to aliens in Grand Theft Auto 5, including a UFO on top of Mount Chiliad, and now it looks like they've finally invaded. Gangs of aliens have been terrorising the good people of Los Santos in GTA Online, causing mischief and beating other players to death with baseball bats.

A new WWE 2K game is coming this year, but it's not 2K21
https://www.pcgamer.com/a-new-wwe-2k-game-is-coming-this-year-but-its-not-2k21/
Last week, 2K Games told investors that it wouldn't be releasing a new WWE 2K game this year, confirming rumours that 2K21 had been cancelled and ending a decade of annual releases. But it turns out that's not quite true. 2K21 won't be happening, but wrestling fans will still have something to play: WWE 2K Battlegrounds. Check out the trailer above.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

How can they even claim to have a gaming PC if Ampere isn't even announced yet?

We have 1000 Magic: The Gathering Arena decks to give away
https://www.pcgamer.com/we-have-1000-magic-the-gathering-arena-decks-to-give-away/
The venerable card battler Magic: The Gathering finally has a digital version worthy of the series' legacy. MTG: Arena is free to play, and supports a huge range of cards. Playing is fun, but collecting and theorycrafting new decks is also a big part of the hobby.
We can grow that card pool for you. We've teamed up with Wizards of the Coast to give away a thousand codes that unlock a 60-card deck in MTG: Arena, featuring cards from last year's M20 core set. The deck, Chandra's Blaze, features a fiery sorceress who can deal cheap direct damage in the early game and summon massive dragons in the endgame—a classic red deck archetype.
The competition is a raffle, so 1000 winners will be randomly chosen once the competition timer expires at 6pm BST/10am PT, tomorrow, April 28. To enter, follow the instructions in the widget below. If you win a code, head to the store tab in MTG: Arena and enter the code into the 'Redeem Code' field on the right side of the screen.
>> I have one thing to say if you take part in it: good luck.

MODS/EMULATORS

Gears of War 3 & Gears of War Judgement are fully playable on PC via the Xbox 360 emulator, Xenia
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/gears-of-war-3-gears-of-war-judgement-are-fully-playable-on-pc-via-the-xbox-360-emulator-xenia/
While the latest Gears of War games are now coming out on the PC, the first parts of the franchise never got released on the PC. Well, apart from the first game. PC gamers never got a chance to play Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 or Gears of War Judgement. However, that’s about to change as all of these games are fully playable on the Xbox 360 emulator, Xenia.
From what we know so far, Microsoft does not plan to release any remakes of these GOW games. As such, PC gamers can only experience them via the Xenia emulator. Naturally, you’ll also need an X360 gamepad as there aren’t any K&M on-screen prompts.

New version of the non-VR mod for Half-Life: Alyx adds spectator mode & FOV, removes black corners
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/new-version-of-the-non-vr-mod-for-half-life-alyx-adds-spectator-mode-fov-removes-black-corners/
Earlier this month, we shared a version of the non-VR mod for Half-Life: Alyx that allowed you to complete the whole game. Since then, the modder has been hard at work fixing and tweaking this mod. Thus, we are happy to present you today a more refined version of it.
This latest version of the non-VR mod for Half-Life: Alyx adds the ability to play in spectator mode. Moreover, it adds the ability to increase the FOV when playing in spectator mode. The modder has also added a profile of key bindings for WASD, for playing in spectator mode. Not only that, but r57zone has removed the annoying black corners.
The end result is a more refined and polished version of this non-VR mod for Half-Life: Alyx. And while it’s now a lot easier -- and more pleasant -- to play the game with a keyboard and mouse, it’s still not the optimal way. This is a VR game and you should use a VR headset for the ultimate experience.

Rumor of a Resident Evil 4 remake hasn't slowed development of its fan-led HD project
https://www.pcgamer.com/rumor-of-a-resident-evil-4-remake-hasnt-slowed-development-of-its-fan-led-hd-project/
The long in-development Resident Evil 4 HD Project is, as the name implies, a complete remake of the original game in the purest sense: it doesn't aim to elaborate on the original, it just wants to make it prettier. Still, with rumors afoot that Capcom is making its own Resident Evil 4 remake, the status of the project might reasonably be called into question.
But in a new blogpost, the team behind the project ensures that work will continue on the HD Project, whether Capcom's remake materialises or not. "Right now it’s just a rumor, but I don’t really care if it’s done or not," the update reads. "Capcom’s latest remakes are way different from the original versions. The original game will still be unique and worthy of a remastered version."

Square Enix removes Trials of Mana demo due to an exploit that allowed you to play the full game
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/square-enix-removes-trials-of-mana-demo-due-to-a-bypass-that-could-allow-you-to-play-the-full-game/
Trials of Mana is the latest JRPG that Square Enix released. The game uses the Denuvo anti-tamper tech and surprisingly enough, the Japanese company released a demo of it on Steam. However, it appears that pirates could bypass and play the full game via this demo. And, as you may have guessed, this forced Square Enix to completely remove it.

Bethesda will donate $1 million to COVID-19 relief
https://www.pcgamer.com/bethesda-will-donate-dollar1-million-to-covid-19-relief/
Bethesda Softworks says it will donate $1 million to local and international "front-line organizations" working to support the effort to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, and will offer fans of its games opportunities to kick in to the cause too.

Artifact's heroes are getting a major overhaul
https://www.pcgamer.com/artifacts-heroes-are-getting-a-major-overhaul/
It's starting to look very much like like Valve isn't rebooting Artifact so much as it is making a whole new game. The cards are changing, the mechanics are changing, and the heroes are changing too: Valve said in a new update today that heroes were seen "as one of the strengths in the original game, but also as one of the missed opportunities," and so it's making changes to the existing heroes and putting together ideas for some new ones.

Cyberpunk 2077's 18+ rating leaks in Brazil, dev says 'we don't f**k around'
https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077s-18-rating-leaks-in-brazil-dev-says-we-dont-fk-around/
Last week, Brazil's advisory rating system let slip that CD Projekt's upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will be rated 18+ in the country. The listing was quickly taken down, but not before it was recorded for posterity on Reddit, which captured images of the rating and provided a handy translation of the content list, too.

A year after being delisted, Lego: Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit are back on Steam
https://www.pcgamer.com/a-year-after-being-delisted-lego-lord-of-the-rings-and-the-hobbit-are-back-on-steam/
It's been just over a year since Lego: Lord of the Rings and Lego: The Hobbit disappeared from Steam. While no reasons were given at the time, it was likely a licensing issue, with the official Warner Bros response being fairly unspecific. But as spotted by Kotaku, it's time to put your hanky away: they're back.

Jessika is a Her Story-style FMV mystery about a young woman's suicide—or murder
https://www.pcgamer.com/jessika-is-a-her-story-style-fmv-mystery-about-a-young-womans-suicideor-murder/
Full-motion videogames (FMVs) have a pretty bad rap in the game biz, and let's be honest: It's well deserved. As we said back in 2015, they were "the worst of all worlds," with limited storage, limited budgets, and limited acting ability. But the genre has enjoyed something of a resurgence in recent years, kickstarted largely by the success of Her Story, which received acclaim when it was released in 2015, and the 2019 followup Telling Lies.
Jessika, announced today by Assemble Entertainment, bears a strong resemblance to those games—in fact, Assemble CEO Stefan Marcinek made a direct comparison to both. After the death of a young woman is ruled a suicide by police, her father—convinced that something far more sinister is going on—hires you to investigate and uncover the truth. Using only your laptop, you'll dive into her online life to follow trails of keywords, uncover clues, and piece together the truth of Jessika's life and untimely death.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne's next title update has been postponed
https://www.pcgamer.com/monster-hunter-world-icebornes-next-title-update-has-been-postponed/
Monster Hunters will have to put their plans to murder Alatreon on hold, as Iceborne's fourth free title update has been put back in the cooler, with no word on a new release date.
Capcom announced the delay on Twitter, explaining that the coronavirus has understandably impacted production. This has resulted in a delay, as well as scaled back Italian, Spanish and French localisation. Recording voice overs is extremely difficult at the moment, with actors unable to get into the studio to record their lines. They will be replaced with "simplified recordings," according to the developer.

Fallout 76's new robot loves communism a bit too much for some players
https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76s-new-robot-loves-communism-a-bit-too-much-for-some-players/
Fallout 76 might have been improved by the Wastelanders update, but it's still getting up to its old tricks. First there was the issue with the new NPCs stealing weapons from dead players, and now there's a robot whose obsession with communism is getting in the way of its job.

you forgot the "great" at the end

Besides, why are you so amped for Ampere? After all, that's gonna be the successor for Volta, not Turing, so chances are you'll never get to see one.

Ampere is the successor to Turing, which is the successor to both Volta and Pascal. I know the presentation will only focus on applications and some boring Quadro/Tesla cards, but it's still gonna be an indicator for Geforce cards.
