Yeah. Don't stuff around with the PSU's. Always buy a quality unit.
A good unit should outlast multiple PC's.

I fear so. Do you have a spare PSU to use while you get a new one? Personally, I would get rid of the faulty one as soon as possible.

My brother won't lend me his. So, no RE2 second run for Teddie here anytime soon. The shit thing is is that I'm exceptionally having lots and lots of spare time this week.

It's actually weird. You can notice the noise shifting about as the PC draws more or less power. I've had a PSU capacitor explode on me years ago, so I'm really wary of this stuff and have ordered a new one already.

I hope it arrives soon and that you can waste your free time put that spare time into good use.

And, once you build a new PC from the ground up, I'd keep the old PSU just in case. They're not that big.

Please excuse my bad English.

Thursday news:

Steam's new daily deal is Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, 69% off: https://store.steampowered.com/app/654880/Dream_Daddy_A_Dad_Dating_Simulator/

On the Humble Store, the new Spotlight Deal is THE JACKBOX PARTY PACK 5, 50% off for the next 3 days: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/the-jackbox-party-pack-5

And at Fanatical, that today works, there are several new deals:

NVIDIA GeForce 418.91 WHQL available for download, does not fix DLSS blurriness in Battlefield 5 & Metro Exodus
NVIDIA has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 418.91 WHQL provides the optimal gaming experience when using DLSS and Ray Tracing in Battlefield V and Metro Exodus.
However, we can confirm that this driver does not resolve the blurry side-effects that PC gamers experience in both of the aforementioned titles when DLSS is enabled. As such, we strongly suggest avoiding DLSS until (and if) NVIDIA fixes the image downgrade-ation that is currently happening.
The NVIDIA GeForce 418.91 WHQL driver also fixes some lines appearing in the terrain with NVIDIA Control Panel Anisotropic filtering override enabled in Battlefield 5 and an event ID 14 error in event viewer logs when Digital Vibrance setting is changed on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series.
Unfortunately, this driver does not resolve the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error message that a lot of NVIDIA gamers have been receiving in APEX Legends (for now, we strongly suggest using the 417.71 driver if you are playing Respawn’s free to play battle royale title).
>> Available from here.

AMD Radeon Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.2.2 optimized for Metro Exodus, Far Cry New Dawn & Crackdown 3
AMD has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.2.2 driver adds support for the Radeon VII and is optimized for Far Cry New Dawn, Metro Exodus and Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Gathering Storm.
Furthermore, this driver is also optimized for Crackdown 3 and improves performance by up to 5% on a Radeon RX 590 graphics card.
It’s also worth noting that this driver addresses some Radeon VII issues. For instance, it addresses a system hang when attempting to perform a timeout detection and recovery on Windows 7 system configurations, some line corruptions in APEX Legends, as well as some issues with the AMD WattMan.

First nude mod released for Resident Evil 2 Remake
Well, it was bound to happen. The first nude mod for Resident Evil 2 Remake has just been released, allowing players to assume the role of a topless Claire Redfield. So yeah, we are not talking about a full nude mod but this is definitely something that some Resident Evil 2 fans will be interested in.
This topless mod basically replaces Claire’s Military outfit and all you have to do is download it and extract it to your RE2 directory. And that’s it.
Unfortunately for all the female gamers out there, there is no nude mod for Leon Kennedy at the moment. Now I don’t know if a modder will invest his/her time in order to release a nude mod for Leon as most gamers appear to be interested in female nude mods.
>> Look for this mod at Nexus Mods.

First update released for APEX Legends, full patch release notes revealed
Respawn has released the first update for its free to play battle royale game, Apex Legends. According to the release notes, this patch brings various improvements and tweaks to UI, and fixes an exploit where players could keep duplicating items in their inventory.

Degrees of Separation, a puzzle game written by Chris Avellone, is out tomorrow
Modus Games' co-op puzzle platformer, Degrees of Separation, has a launch trailer to celebrate its release tomorrow.
Written by Chris Avellone, the game stars two characters called Ember and Rime. Ember's world is warm; Rime's is icy. Both character's elements can be used individually to solve puzzles or navigate the path ahead, and it they can merge their powers to create 'controllable gusts of wind, frozen rivers, secret passageways.' You can get a good look at how it works in the trailer above.

Dangerous Driving, a spiritual successor to Burnout, is coming to the Epic Store
Dangerous Driving will have 30 courses set across seven unique locations, a variety of game modes with names like Takedown, Eliminator, and Road Rage, and support for solo racing against "remorseless AI" and online action for up to eight players. IT promises "unparalleled physics and mass destruction," although perhaps not unparalleled realism, and of course there will be plenty of new cars and abilities to unlock.

Try out Trials Rising for free in next week's open beta
Ubisoft's 2.5D motocross racing/platformer Trials Rising will be out on February 26, a slight pushback from its originally scheduled launch on February 12. Before that happens, you can take it for a spin in a free open beta that will run from February 21-25.

Watch the full intro sequence to Far Cry New Dawn
You probably already know that the basic setup of Far Cry New Dawn is The Road Warrior with a side order of deep fried bull testicles. If you'd like a more detailed breakdown of what's in store, today's new 12-minute gameplay video, covering the full intro sequence, is here to help. It is also obviously spoiler-ish, so approach with whatever level of caution you feel is appropriate.

Harmonix's new game is a VR rhythm shooter called Audica
When last we heard from Rock Band studio Harmonix several years ago, it was working on a musical shooter called Chroma. That has apparently fallen by the wayside, however, as the studio announced today that its next project will be a VR "rhythm shooter" for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift called Audica—and it will be out on Steam Early Access in March.

Ubisoft teases Rainbow Six Siege's Aussie operators with a surprisingly silly video
Today's teaser for Gridlock and Mozzie, the Australian operators coming to Rainbow Six Siege in Operation Burnt Horizon, is short and not terribly informative, but it's also silly and fun, and takes a very different approach to showcasing its gun-slinging superstars than we usually see. I like it, and so here it is for you to enjoy too.

WWE wrestler Booker T. sues Activision over Call of Duty's 'Prophet' character
Booker T. Huffman, famous among wrestling fans as WWE superstar Booker T. , has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Activision alleging that the Call of Duty character David "Prophet" Wilkes is based upon GI Bro, a persona Huffman created in the early years of his wrestling career.

Everyone that manages to complete 13 Overtime challenges before February 27 will receive a Season 8 battle pass completely free, earning two Season 8 outfits immediately, as well as the chance to earn up to five more.

Hollow Knight: Silksong announced, a full sequel set in a new land
Team Cherry has announced a sequel to the awesome metroidvania Hollow Knight last night with a trailer, a website, and some colourful screenshots.
In Hollow Knight: Silksong you play as the princess-protector of Hallownest, Hornet, who has been captured and taken to a different land. That means a new map full of beautiful art, boss monsters, and towns of cute bug people. It looks like the new setting will allow for more variety than Hollow Knight's melancholy ruined city. The website mentions "gilded cities, lakes of fire, and misted moors".
>> mZuzek has made a thread about this.

Resident Evil 2 Remake's free Ghost Survivors DLC is out tomorrow
Resident Evil 2 Remake's Ghost Survivors DLC is out tomorrow, allowing you to play through three 'what if' scenarios as victims of the Raccoon City outbreak.
The free DLC includes No Time to Mourn, Runaway and Forgotten Soldier, each giving you the chance to step into the shoes of a different character and experience the biological disaster from the perspective of the civilians.

Fallout 76 duped items are being removed from inventories
Fallout 76 is undergoing a spot of maintenance today, with Bethesda promising to finally get rid of duped items, stripping players of their ill-gotten gains. You may return to find some of your favourite gear missing when servers come back online.

What time Anthem's servers go live and how to pre-load
After a long wait, BioWare has finally confirmed what time Anthem launches and how to pre-load. To be clear, Anthem isn't actually releasing until February 22, a week from now, but those who subscribe to Origin Access can start playing tomorrow, February 15. If you're subscribed to Origin Access Basic, you can play for 10 hours before having to wait for the full launch. Those subscribing to Origin Access Premiere can start playing the full game without restrictions, though. It's very stupid, we know.

"Wheel me out to the curb for garbage day"

With the recent announcement of another Platinum game, I can't help but feel that PC will only ever have access to Platinum games via their much older titles, albeit remastered ones and nothing more.

That sucks tbh. I like when Platinum are given the reigns to what they want to make, but when they aren't, we get games like Korra, Turtles and Neir (PC port was trash and still not patched). Any of the actual good and decently running games they've done in recent years have been exclusively locked to one console.

I really do wish for a day when Platinum would make at least one non multiplayer driven (because that seems to be the thing when it comes to making one game PC exclusive these days and it's sad) game for PC, that isn't a console port of a game from 10 years ago.

It's time for the Friday news:

The Division 2 has more PC preorders than the original, despite skipping Steam
Ubisoft surprised a lot of people in January when it announced that The Division 2 will be released on the Epic Games Store and not Steam—and that at least some of its future PC releases will be given the same treatment. Ubi said at the time that it believes Epic will "deliver a smooth journey," from preordering to release, and that Epic's effort to "disrupt" the industry is "something Ubisoft wants to support."
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot went deeper into the company's reasoning for changing stores today during an earnings call, and the short (and obvious) version is that Ubisoft believes it can make more money outside of Steam. So far it sounds like the strategy is working out well.
"Early indications are supportive, as PC preorders are higher than for the first Division, and preorders on the Ubisoft Store are six times higher. We believe this deal is a long-term positive for Ubisoft."
>> The Ubi Store numbers are what Ubi must be most happy about.

Romance pigeons and joust with genitals in Humble's Valentine's Day Sale
Today is February 14, Valentine's Day, a day of love and romance and all that nonsense, and also a day to pick up some videogames on the cheap over on the Humble Store. The Valentine Sale has discounts of up to 90 percent on a selection of games that include heartfelt adventures, visual novels, and battling private parts.
>> A bit late, I know. But the sale will last another 3 days.
But there are other sales on the Humble Store:

Dino Crisis mod released for Resident Evil 2 Remake, replaces Claire with Regina & Leon with Dylan
Dino Crisis fans, here is something really special for you today. Although Capcom does not plan to release a new part in the series or even a remake of the classic Dino Crisis games, modder ‘Crazy Potato’ went ahead and modded Resident Evil 2 Remake in order to allow players to control, once again, Regina.
This Dino Crisis mod replaces Claire Redfield with Regina from Dino Crisis, as well as Leon with Dylan Morton. Sherry is also now wearing a new jacket dedicated to the Dino Crisis series, and there will be some goodies for players to collect at the RPD main hall.
According to the modder, Scenario A spawns the weapons and to get the Glock you must be wearing the Regina Costume or have it installed to use it. Also note that folders must be separate and not combined or you might get some odd effects.
>> Check out this mod at Nexus Mods.

4A Games has released the day-1 update for Metro Exodus (which is around 2GB in size) and revealed its complete changelog. According to the release notes, this day-1 patch adds more filters for Photo Mode, improves VO and subtitles timing in all languages and brings general performance, balance and polish improvements.
>> But it doesn't fix the blurry DLSS.

JUMP FORCE runs really smooth on the PC but suffers from console porting issues
Since I’m a big anime fan, I was really looking forward to JUMP FORCE. JUMP FORCE is an anime/manga 3D brawler, featuring the world’s most popular and classic manga/anime franchises including DRAGON BALL Z, ONE PIECE, NARUTO, and many others. And while the game appears to be running smoothly on the PC, it suffers from major console porting issues.

Even Zevran's! Kinda.

I think Valve is going to have to pull it's finger out at some point and start being more competitive... Or risk loosing marketshare.
Fortnite+Division+Metro are setting some interesting precedents that's for sure.
