i was thinking more on the lines of 2010.. heh my brain just started working and obviously nintendo keeps hardware around till it doesnt sell anymore... so the way things are going we probably wont see a new system for awhile.

Nintendo did say they expect the Wii to have a short lifespan - of about 4years. They also said they hope to sell around 60m units in its lifetime.

Now now, you made all of that up. Every word of it. Stop that, no such thing was eeeeeever said.

1) this was released from nintendo's financial report... they wouldn't lie to their investors... it's just bad business. Unless something drastic happens, these games ARE coming this year. 2) what song is that quote in your sig from weezy? I swear I've heard that song before but I cant remember it...

I wonder...i'm curious as to wheater they will really release another system. i don't think so tho. too soon. that would be messed up.

This is like the 3rd or 4th thread about this. What is everyone so afraid of? Think about it, it makes sense. This holiday season is going to be big for 360 and PS3. They have GTA, Halo3, and a few other Sony titles that are going to drive their sales. Nintendo needs to be as offensive as possible. Bringing out these 3 titles is a major attack. MP3 is going to prove that FPS is best on Wii. SSB and Galaxy are just huge in their own right. Plus, this will also mean that more than likely there will be no major 1st/2nd party Nintendo games in the 1st quarter of 2008. That means all of the 3rd parties who will finally have original content for the Wii will have no competition from Nintendo. Allowing them the best scenario to do well on a Nintendo console. Lastly, these game probably won't do much harm to each other as they are all different genres. Fighting, FPS, and Platform. I personally will buy all three, even if they launched on the same day.

According to the financial report supplement all 3 titles are announced for Japan in 2007 but still without a release date for North America, so they could push one or two of them into 2008 without "lying" to investors. Animal Crossing is also on the list for Japan, but without a release date. Super Mario is probably the most important of the 3, followed by Smash Bros in 2nd place and Metroid with least importance. Other major titles (or flops) will be Wii Health and Wii Music. And I'm still yearning for some surprise coming out of left field!

Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.

The Wii is facing some pretty big games from the competition this Christmas (some are saying this will be one of the best years for gamers in awhile) so it wouldn't be surprising if all those games make their release dates.

Well this is unexpected but not surprising since it's not like Nintendo planned it. All three were supposed to be released within 6 months of the Wii's launch. As I recall Mario was the first to be delayed back to late 2007 while MP3 and SSMB got the Q1/07, no wait Q2/07, no wait TBA/07, no Q4/07 treatment. Nintendo generally doesn't release games until they are completely ready and I think their breaking that habit with the GameCube taught them why they should do it. They rushed the big guns out on the GCN and it showed, most felt like their N64 with better graphics and tacked on gameplay elements (F.L.U.D.D. comes to mind). Since the Wii is selling well enough without them, they face major competition this Christmas with everyone's big guns releasing, and more time always helps a game get better I don't thinks it surprising they delayed the 3 until Q4/07. Nintendo does have plenty more to come, Zelda, Mario Kart, Mario Sports, Kid Icarus (pure hope on that one), Animal Crossing, Mario RPG, Nintendogs, and more I'm probably not thinking of or don't know about.
