i was thinking more on the lines of 2010.. heh my brain just started working and obviously nintendo keeps hardware around till it doesnt sell anymore... so the way things are going we probably wont see a new system for awhile.

Nintendo did say they expect the Wii to have a short lifespan - of about 4years. They also said they hope to sell around 60m units in its lifetime.
I won't complain if the "Wii Deluxe" comes out around 2010... Im hoping for a move back to high-capacity carts.. :)

That's nice for 2007, but I'm left wondering what they'll have left in the bag for 2008. Hopefully a new Zelda, but those seem to take centuries to make. :D

A year after the Wii was released is hardly early for the big games, i have nothing to play so I go on www.wiicade.com now! No one has mentioned animal Crossing for the Wii yet, but will it be a huge seller like on the DS?
it doesn't really matter when those games come out. while it may initially canibalize their sales by having so many big games come out at once, their major franchises will continue to sell throughout the life of the wii. smash bros melee, mario sunshine, and double dash were all consistently strong long-term sellers throughout the life of the cube. metroid, not so much...
