Wow that's pretty darn great but I wonder if the Xbox version of Bioshock infinite outsold God of War Ascension to become the best selling indiviudal sku to release in March.

Is BioShock the best selling individual SKU in March? I think GoW:A is.

I think it is as well. So this is the 3rd God of War game to top the indiviudal format charts in the USA within its first month (including the bundle). But without the bundle I think its probably 3rd behind Gears of War Judgement and God of War Ascension. So 2.5 million LT looks likely for God of War and 3 million if its bundled in the holiday season.

I really hope GOW:A can sell 3M to costumers.  It is a great game, in a great franchise that deserves great sales.    I know that most probably GOW3 should be around 6M already but, considering this is a prequel, and it was rated like crap on most sites 3M is a respectable mark.

So 230'000 confirmed for 3DS (finally.)

5'000 increase is good enough for me.

Don;t worry with God of War III type reviews, hype and story

God of War: Ascension type gameplay and MP

Strong PS4 install base

God of War IV will sell at around 7.5 million considering God of War III sold around 6.2-6.3 million..

I actually think God of War: Ascension can sell between 3.5 - 4 million lifetime. It should have a nice little boost when TLoU demo goes live and hopefully there will be a PS3 bundle with GoW:A, TLoU & Beyond in time for the holidays this year. If the legs are half as good as God of War 3 is should reach my estimates, GoW 1 & 2 sold a lot years after next gen consoles released to hopefully GoW:A will do well too. And yes, God of War 4 will be bloody huge, if God of War 3 can sell about 6.25 million in 3 years with no mass bundling, quiet March release during a PS3 shortage and weak advertisement/marketing (compared to other AAA games) then imagine how well GoW4 will do if it is as good or better than GoW3 and Sony pulls their fingers out of their ass' and make a strong effort with it.

Many fake GoW4 videos have many millions of views on Youtube (most popular hasa whopping 7.4 million views!). Millions of people really want the game and if it has the acclaim & word of mouth of GoW3 + the bundling & advertisement of UC3 then it could grow the franchise massively and sell 7-8 million if the growth is comparable to GoW3. I hope all goes well, I predict GoW IV will be announced at E3 2015 (10 year anniversary) and hopefully have a holiday release for the first time for a mainline game in the franchise (it probably won't though, I expect a March 2016 release.

Pickachu XL + 500 = Vita
Vita: bundle ~ 64%

gowa bundle ~ 63k

bio: 360 67%, ps3 33%
tr: 360 54%, ps3 46%

NPD - Bestsellers, March 2013. Some figures to add to the OP.

1. God of War: Ascension - 633,000 (Vgchartz 584,000).

2. Gears of War: Judgment - 620,000 (Vgchartz 602,000).

3. Bioshock Infinite (360) - 582,900 (Vgchartz 558,000).

4. Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon - 360,000 (Vgchartz 452,000).

5. Tomb Raider (360) - 345,600 (Vgchartz 361,000).

6. Tomb Raider (PS3) - 294,400 (Vgchartz 280,000).

7. Bioshock Infinite (PS3) - 287,100 (Vgchartz 265,000).

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=542856 (A lot of pages to look through but all the information above is there, not 100% sure whether PC sales are included for TR & BI or not, don't think they are though).

Looks like Vgchartz needs to do some adjusting, especially for God of War: Ascension (undertracked 49K) and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon (overtracked 92K). Everything else is fairly close though. Fair do's, Vgchartz.

OMG the portable market is doomed! Sells more than PS3... them phones that are so confy for portable gaming. Awww...

Yeah, that was sarcasm.

Not trying to be unfriendly, but do you realize how amazing that tracking is by VGC? Everybody should realize this.

A +/-10% discrepancy is within the statistical margin. No adjusting needed.

Software tracking this month was rock solid by VGC. So solid that it strengthens my conspiracy theory that ioi has a subscription at NPD.

Hardware tracking is a completely different story. That's because NPD uses a different method than VGC in presenting their numbers since they never adjust past HW numbers, they only adjust for past tracking errors by manipulating their very latest numbers (those we see in a monthly report) and possibly by manipulating future numbers if the past discrepancy between tracking and reality simply was too high to not make the published numbers look unrealistic.
