Wiimote+Nunchuk have accelerometers in case you haven't noticed, that's like 6 "buttons" each. ;>

They will replace the others buttons with motion-sensing at least.

Making a game on Wii without taking advantage of the wiimote is senseless(I am not saying that the wiimote is better for this game), I am sure that nintendo will do right on the controls.

6 buttons? you could play smash bros melee with three buttons (well, ok, five since you need start, and z was used to throw away items)

jump, kick, punch, block, throw.

Those are the easy ones that I can think of, I thought there was another button used tho.

I do not like the idea of the motion sensing controls for any game. I just dont like it. That is not exclusive to the Wii. I *DONT* like it on the PS3 either.

yes those were the five buttons smash bros used (although you could use up for jumping, and of course no one ever used throw or block that I saw)

Considering the Wii remote + nunchuck has 4 easily accessible buttons (not including down on the d-pad) then it could easily be done with the combo. Not to mention the whole motion sensitivity thing (oh no! Kwaad doesn't like motion sensitivity, better redo the whole thing).

Finally we hear about some hands on with Brawl......*reads article* that's it, what? It's just a tease, no talk about the actual playing. Yulegoat I'm pretty sure they said a long time ago that the gc/classic controllers would be the main control schemes used.

So I have to buy *MORE* controllers for the Wii... You have GOT to be kidding me.

They stated motions sensing won't work for the game (since Nintendo isn't arrogantly acting like their new control is the only way to play games). So you do need either a Classic Controller or GC controller.

But you shouldn't complain about this. EVERY game with an offline multiplayer mode needs more controllers to play. Yet the game HAS been announced to have online multiplayer, so you don't have to get more controllers.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

There wasn't a kick button, but there was a 'special move' button.  Still, you could easily map A and B on the GC controller to A and B on the Wii Remote.  Z on the nunchuk = throw, C = block.  Up = jump, just like on the `cube.  Done.

If you really can't deal with pressing up to jump, just get a classic controller.  I'm sure something on the Virtual Console will be worth 10 bucks to you.

Has anyone of you played Soldat (PC)? The controls were great and there's many things about it's controls that could be used in Brawl. The dude you're controlling always faces towards the cursor, which you could move with Wiimote. That makes walking and running backwards and forwards very intuitive and the aiming is taken care of too.

Still no news on the roster though..really hoping for Sonic this time, or maybe another 3rd party(like Bomberman).  Plus being able to upload your Mii as a fighter would be extremely cool. I would prefer some motion sensing than plain classic controlls though, but since it practically is a 2d fighter we 'll have to wait until MKA for the Wii to see if that works.

soldat's a great game, and I think a Wii version could be quite cool

however, I don't think the controls would map to brawl well, it's really designed for shooting which brawl doesn't have much off.
