10 Zelda: BotW ?

As much as I’d like to, I find this hard to believe. Where’s Super Mario Bros. (NES), Duck Hunt, Pokémon Red/Blue and especially Wii Sports? I probably forgot other huge sellers. I doubt BotW is the #10.

Do Pokemon games not count as Nintendo games for some weird reason? Like, was Nintendo only talking about EPD games? I'd find that hard to believe.

NPD said US meaning just the country not NA which includes Canada, Mexico and various parts of the Caribbean and Central America as well, BOTW consistently remains in NPD's charts since release, the game at the end of June was at 18.6m sales on Switch alone and given it's performance in NPD it's not too surprising it broke into the top 10.

NPD counts Pokemon games as separate entries.  Like Sword and Shield are two different games on NPD charts.  And to answer S.Peelman, I doubt they include pack-ins in their charts like Super Mario Bros. 1 or Wii Sports.  Also, when I was making this table, I somewhat wondered if they counted games from the 20th century, since NPD didn't exist at that time. Even if they didn't it wouldn't change the total too much.  Most entries are from the 21st century, and those last few entries are pretty close to one another in number

It's true.  I took NA numbers and NPD is just US.  However, the vast majority of sales in NA come from the US.  I expect the ranking in the US to be basically the same as NA.  Maybe there is one pair of games that needs to swap places or something if they're close.

The Hyrule Warriors news came with a tease for September 26. What do you all expect to hear from Nintendo in 11 days? What do you WANT to hear?

Hyrule Warriors was really the only DW game I ever got into although not tried FEW yet as I hear it's even better, we know it's all BOTW in this DW game so elements will be adapted from it such as what the pre-order bonus indicates that rather than equip weapon sets you equip a sword and a shield individually. I think even as a prequel we may see aspects in it that hint at what may come or what may be used in BOTW's sequel as effectively this is an official trilogy of the same story arc I think only the second trilogy in the series following WW/PH/ST but I think this is the first with the same incarnation of Link and Zelda through out as ST were different.

If they counted Wii Sports Resort... And it becomes iffy regardless because other games on that list were bundled at some point as well. Anyway it doesn’t matter, your second point may be right, they also only counted from a certain date. Which sadly makes this untrue non-news.

I'd like to know what kind of gameplay modes and characters are playable in Hyrule Warriors.  The first HW had a lot of both.  Then I'd like a little tease of both this story and BotW2's story.  Any other tidbits that they would want to tease about BotW2 in general would be great.  But other than that some gameplay footage and some info on characters and modes without revealing every single detail would be nice.  They still need to leave most of the surprises for the game itself.
