Nintendo has 134 games in development.   I'm not sure how many EA has, but I'm quite sure they dont release that many... or near that many.

Nintendo has a relativly small group of programmers working under them compared to the giants of Sony, Microsoft, EA, Ubi, and many of the other giants.

What will this mean for the game industry as a whole? What will this do to my games.

Ok. I'm F*King personal now. Nintendo was gonna screw up console gaming. Now seeing this, this makes me sick to the stomach.

What... kind of games are those gonna be? Nintendo as an average will release 1 game every 5 days. (holy crap)

or about 1 game every 10 days for the DS and about 1 every 15 days for the Wii.

Has nintendo gone soft? Has nintendo gone profit-hungry? They are a corporation. But That is too many games, too fast. If these numbers are actually gonna hit store shelves, like it would seem they will. Nintendo will release roughly 25-50% of games worldwide.

I am a firm beleiver in getting what you pay for. Seeing what nintendo has done with their low budget games here in america, likely almost every one of these will cost 50$. For a game that probibally cost 500,000$ or LESS... to produce.

I dont give a damn what you think of this. Explain how this is good for me.

Even if I could deal with the horrible wii-mote. Even if I could deal with the lower graphics.  Even if I could deal without the HD... Or the high quality sound.

Now I am being told I have to deal with micro-budget games!?!

This is where I draw the line. I am seriously looking into selling my Wii over this.

This is not good for ANY GAMER. This is HORRIBLE. If nintendo wins this generation, this could seriously be the end a generation of gaming. End of a generation of games where you can do anything you want, where you want... Into a generation of games... where... it goes back 2 generations.

How is this good for me. Name me one way this is good for me. Nintendo, this pissed me off.

So because Nintendo is making games to make money, this means all of them will be crap?  No one's stopping other studios from making blockbuster games.  The Wii isn't about huge budget games, it's about quick pick me ups, play for a bit and enjoy yourself.  Kwaad, grow up.

rendo - it will effect the market, when every publisher see's they can make 40x more profit, making crap games, they will stop making blockbusters... There will be a new generation of bluckbusters... that would be more like minibusters.

I wouldnt be so upset about this if they were 20$ budget games.

Nintendo might get rich quick, but they will destroy the market of games that I love... Then agian, they might actually hurt themselves, because if they do that, Wii might end up for nintendo games, and PS3/360 get all the 3rd party games. (wii would get the 3rd party party games too though)

Thanks for the laughs kwaad. LMAO Nintendo has made 2 consoles, which are targeted (also) for the non-gaming audience and they have to make games for this broad group of customers. This is total opposite for M$:s strategy of making only FPS:s. This doesn't mean that you would get 100 Metroid Primes, this means wide range of different type of games, some with lower budget and some with high budget. So variation is everything between Brain Training and Zelda. Did they give any time period for those games? In 2 years? 5 years? Anyway, the thinking, what Iwata brought to Nintendo, was that they shouldn't do everything by themselves, a lot of these games propably 2nd party or otherwise developed in co-operation with game studios outside Nintendo.

No, I dont care about games at all. I just spend quite a bit of my budget on games. I have over 100 PC games at my mothers, and I used to have around 100PS2, 20x-box and roughly 20 GameCube.

But no, I dont give a damn about games at all.

The Wii is gonna destroy the type of games that I love if it succeeds. That is bad for me. That translates directly into. The Wii is bad for me.

I do NOT LIKE simple games. I like COMPLEX games, that make me THINK.

ZELDA did not make me THINK. Zelda is the most 'advanced' game out for the Wii to date (as far as I am aware)

Motorstorm is much more complex than anything on the Wii, and motorstorm, is just scracthing the surface of the PS3/360 games that are to come.

Really Zelda, is as far as I'm aware, the most complex thing that I know of for the WIi, and becuase of that, that means it could be up to 3 years before I see another game that I would like on the Wii... possibly. That is not that many. 1 game every 3 years.

There are gonna be at least 3 games that I love on the PS3, There are at least 2 on the 360 that I have to buy before I can play those.

The Wii is gonna remove complexity from games.

If nintendo has games in devlopment more than 2 years out counted on that, nintendo must have 1 peson working on that game, and if they do that, that means they have an average of about 5-10 people working on each game...

Most SNES games had over 20.

Consider that Nintendo won't release all of these games within 12 months and the whole thread is pointless.

Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.

You should stop thinking ONLY YOURSELF!! And i want simple game, puzzle games, party games! Why can't I have them? Just so you can be happy with your complex games? (I Love complex games too, just an example, there are people who love minigames, what should they do?)

Kwaad And Nintendo has personnel over 3000 people. If half of them would be working in game development, that would be over 10 people working each game simultanously. Motorstorm made you think? A game which requires menthal capasity as much as Wii Sports? So you mean that games have to be as simple as possible for you to "get it"?

Yeah, Motorstorm and Resistance are tEH games for rocket scientists. Compared to them, TP is like driving a car or pulling a trigger...

I'm sure you will come to understand that Wii isn't destroying anything. If hyper-complicated games could be commercially succesful, there would be more of them, but because they're a risky business, the studios such as Take Two are not making profit. That's not Nintendo's fault.

Because the detailed games are so expensive to make, the trend has gone for shorter games, such as Gears of War (4h gameplay?) and Motorstorm (8 tracks). That's the only way to make profit with them. Is that the path games should be heading for, Kwaad? Nintendo produces games for the hardcore crowd too, like Zelda, MP3 and Mario Galaxy and they're guaranteed to be lengthier than those two.
