Forums - Sales Discussion - Wii's 1st 2 3rd Party Million Sellers are...

Red Steel 1 sucked, the thought of Red Steel 2 is nothing to cheer about.

360 and PS3 will be getting EndWar, that's actually something to look forward to.

We saw similar strong performance from a handful of early third party Gamecube games. Anyway, Ubisoft still knows Microsoft is their sweet spot, but these sales figures do bode well in terms of them supporting Nintendo.

The sales curves for the Wii and GC are completely different. The GC lost momentum right after launch, much like the PS3. The Wii has maintained it's numbers, much like the PS2 did early on.

Even if it is true with the GC its hardware sales were no where near the Wii at this point and had fallen sharply off.  It wouldn't be surprising that 3rd party sold when the system was selling well (for all of 2 months) then fell off with system sales.  That's especially the case since new 3rd party titles disappeared as sales dropped.  The Wii has seen good 3rd party sales with its strong sales, so long as it continues to sell well so will the new 3rd party games that will be made.

let's see in a year who has more 1million+sellers worldwide.

I bet it will be you, Kwaad! Flash forward to the future:

Snippet From an online book review site, March 2008:

Kwaads books, "Wii Sux", "PS3 Roxors my boxors", "'Riiiidge Raaacer' and other things that never happened" have sold more copies than all the harry potter books, combined.

"Well you know I just tell the truth, and people respect that in an author," Said Kwaad, while grilling a steak on his PS3.

Not really. Gamecube only had one worldwide seller in 2002, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, and it didn't hit 1 million until sometime in the late summer.

So....yeah, Wii is considerably better then the Gamecube in terms of 3rd party sales.

this is the best possible news right now for the Wii.
3rd party start to believe they can do well and Red Steel 2 surely has green flag.

3rd party will know they can put garbage on the wii ad it will sell well, send in the psp ports baby send 'em in...

Who said 3rd party won't sell on the Wii, the question is will it be garbage such as these games.

Neither of these games are PSP ports, in fact this proves is games designed for the Wii will sell, not ports

I didn't say they were PSP ports I was saying they are as much garbage as a port....

I have a Wii and there still isn't anything really worth getting on it that's not made by Nintendo (the reason I got the Wii is for Nintendo games, not others)

The one game in the future that might change this is No More Heroes, hopefully, or the Guilty Gear game on Wii if it's not just a port of the game released on PS2 and Xbox from before...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Nice I like those books. Don't forget "The PS3 Will Dominate in 2 Months!"

You kiddin me, right?! RIGHT?!... Wii will still be above PS3 at end 07... And will have a further lead... No DOUBT!

THE NETHERLANDS

Just great news.  Good to see 3rd parties having success.  But this is what happens when you support a console from the beginning.  You get installed as a noteworthy publisher and get high sales.  Activision had with the 360 at launch with COD2 and Wii has it with Ubisoft with these 2 games.  Going to see some good sales from Ubisoft on Wii for games to come.

But what's with all the Rayman and Red Steel hate.  I personally liked those games especially Rayman. Great game.  And Red Steel was a good start on FPS for the Wii and I hope with the 2nd one they can perfect it.
