I guess...

- 360 1.9M overtracked 700k here (confirmed)

- PS3  1.2M? on spot here (waiting confirmation)

- Wii 3.2M? on spot here (waiting confirmation)

The huge diference will be 360 after all.

I think Ps3 might be up or down by 100k...and wii down 200k-300k.

There is still a possibility that the Wii could be overtracked by a LOT. PS3, not so much... But still a possible few hundred k.

I've updated the front page by the way. 6.8m X360s in the USA for 2010 (maybe a bit less or more - depending on whether the 1.9m figure is rounded - last month Microsoft said 1.4m, and it was 1.37m - not much of a difference, but rounded nonetheless).

I wonder how much lower Wii is.  It has some cushion, so it'll def be over 3mil I hope.  PS3 should definitely be above a million.

Wii could be around 3.3M down 510K but still over 3M, PS3 could be below 1M, maybe 989K, but it's more likely to be over 1M.

Wait, the ceiling was 3.2M based on Nintendo's press release, right?

To be fair 1.9m for the 360 would still be superb (up 50% YOY)...  but lets wait and see.

50%? It did 1,310,000 last year, so 40% increase, still amazing though.

45% actually...

And therein lies your answer as to why Microsoft didn't hit the amounts we though.  I'm sure it makes sense to people who aren't forecasting hardware to just crank your production up 100% year over year but for those in the real world who get fired if they crazyglue stock to shelves, they usually don't foresee such craziness.

Microsoft, in advance of The NPD Group's December report, has noted that it sold 1.9 million units of the Xbox 360 in December, which is the biggest month in Xbox history, helping to solidify the company's biggest year in Xbox history as well.

$6.2 billion was spent on Xbox 360 products during December, and Microsoft said Xbox 360 was the only console to show year-over-year growth at 42%, making it the fastest-growing console in 2010.

As was already indicated by Major Nelson earlier, demand was quite high and supplies were tight. Microsoft said that "in order to keep up with holiday demand in December for Xbox 360 and Kinect, Microsoft pulled units from its January and February production."

The company continued, "Despite this, Microsoft still experienced out of supply situations in late December, and it expects supply constraint to continue in January and February as it works with retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments to replenish the channel."

On the software side, December saw three of the top ten console game titles on Xbox 360: Call of Duty: Black Ops, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Kinect Sports.

About a week ago, Microsoft announced that it had reached 50 million Xbox 360s sold, while Kinect hit 8 million in just 60 days.

Are they serious ?? To cover demand that led to a....sub-2 million December they had to "pull usits from their January and February production " ?? Pathetic ...

Im more interested in the software than the hardware for this NPD
