half of nearly all of vgchartz expected the ps3 to die off in sales after 2007, you even said it would be its best and only good year.

ps3 is winning will win and everyone will win(if they buy the ps3)

So PS3 Is alive and well. and does it with being the higher priced console, less games, lower reviewed games, survived the halo 3 year, and had tons of delays to make 08's games lineup be a beast of well known games. not to mention that ps3 carried blu-ray on its back considering HD-DVD stand alones out sell blu ray stand alones by a bigger margin, this being proven by how big the difference is in movie disk sales Still having blu ray ahead 3 to 1.

I honestly have 1 Big games left in my mind to get for 360 in 08 and that Lost oddessy ,Ninja Gaiden 2 and maybe Splinter Cell 5. All the rest of the games are not even on par with the PS3's weaker 07 line-up.

Im willing to bet that The ps3 will outsell 2007 1st year sales by august 26.

Those two posts are funny - but I guess taken a week apart (as they are), it makes more sense :)

This is MS we are dealing with. If nothing else, they have *too* much money - and a lot of experience with destroying opponents over a long period of time.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they made the 360 a "open" platform, and licensed it out to other manufacturers.

This takes the burden off them, and they may just focus on development of the 720 (or whatever), maybe even for release Xmas '09.

I'm sure they haven't "given up" - that is for certain. The 360 is doing a LOT better than the XBOX did, and should end up a lot more successful than it. That only bodes well for the next release.

Of all the consoles, the 360 is the one I underestimated the most this season. The PS3 will end up 500k-80k higher than I thought (pre price cut announcement), but the 360 is a solid 1m more than I thought it would reach.

If MS announce a new, completely redesigned 360 (same specs, same software) - smaller, cheaper, hard disk, no more reliability issues - and maybe a new controller (with some new games) to go with it - they are going to have a great year, and the PS3 will struggle to keep up. 

 I take that bet, One month ban??

 Huh? Maybe I'm not catching the sarcasm here. But what leo-j said makes sense (although I'm sure it isn't true) because the two are not exclusive of one another. Guessing the PS3 would die implies that it would come in last place, but believing that it would coming in last doesn't necessarily mean that it would die.

 On topic. I never thought that the PS3 would outsell the 360 during the holidays either. While both had some great titles, I thought that the 360 had a slight edge.

I wouldn't go that far, but it will do better in 2008 than 2007, yes.

actually yes.....the battle is between those 2, it's a bit interesting......Wii has been very comfotable on the top for so long....

i think ps3 will win xbox360, but not the Wii

1) The part about MS licensing 360 hardware to other manufacturers is a hot rumor those days. It could be totally true.

2) the first console maker between Sony and MS that releases a smaller model will have a huge edge on the other. Smaller = sex.
