Forums - Website Topics - Are the stats on this site wrong?

I was reading my paper today and it said in the U.S. 1.87 million wii's were sold and 1.06 million PS3's, i'm wondering is this site wrong or my paper? Under their reference they got it from NPD group inc.

This website has data from Canada and estimates for Mexico and Latin America... The newspaper for NPD data in the USA alone is accurate. Also this site is accounting for March data, and NPD is only through February so far.

According NPD : Wii : 1 871 000 (USA) + 145 000 (Canada) PS3 : 1 058 300 (USA) + 60 OOO (Canada) (February)

i also think the npd doesnt include sales from stores like walmart and so forth so you have to think about that too

NPD doesnt include Walmart in their actual totals (that they collect). NPD collects data from 60% of all stores, and extrapolates the rest of the 40%.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Well they sure have some discrepancies ,especially in the frontpage .... Example ;in the Europe data they give 1.95 million sold for the X360 in EUrope in 2006 .But in the frontpage in the European data in "others " (europe + australia ) they put 3.44 million sold .There is no way the console has sold 1.5 million since january .

Didn't the 360 sell some in 2005? And they sold in AU and other non-European regions in 2006 too, you know. This website is actually very accurate, especially for past data. They estimate "present" sales but those are pretty close and constantly adjusted as real data comes out.

I wonder if you even know what you are talking about. You know, is not always about "fanboyism". Sometimes, you can make a point if you make your argument using actual facts and not bullshit. Whats your age once again?
