I'm having a tough time getting into AC Odyssey (or any other game) after RDR2. I'm sure it's a good game with an engaging story but everything from visuals to voice actors, from performance to chacter movement are just so inferior to RDR.

I've heard other people say this. Ironically, I am having the opposite problem. I took a break from RDR2 about halfway into it to finish up some KH games before KH3 released, and now I just don't have the willpower to finish it. It's kind of sad really, the original RDR is my favorite game of all time, but RDR2 just didn't suck me in the same way. Between some questionable design choices such as an over focus on realism during gameplay to the point where it hinders the fun factor, to a main character that I just don't like nearly as much as John Marston, to a story that just feels unnecessary because I know how it will end since it is a prequel. I don't know if I will ever be able to bring myself to finish RDR2 at this point. I really hope that Rockstar gives me the story I wanted for RDR2 for RDR3, a game focused on a younger Landon Ricketts during his gunslinging days, that is a game I'm sure would suck me in just as much as RDR1 did.

RDR1 was my all time favorite game too. Until RDR2 that is. Asking which character I like more, Arthur or John would be like asking which one of my children I love more lol. Imo the realism is what makes the gameplay so enjoyable and fun and why it's right now so hard for me to play any arcade studf like AC. The story.. well it's about the journey, not the destination. Trust me, knowing what happens in RDR1 makes it even more engaging and emotional.
