For the past 4 years of my life, this game was everything. It started out as just a fun game I bought because it looked cool, but as I started playing with other people and going to events and such, things changed very quickly. Suddenly, I was making new friends all the time, travelling to play tournaments across the country, and having amazing experiences I'll always remember fondly. Furthermore, it was just a proper awesome game - it was essentially Brawl on steroids, with much better mechanics, faster gameplay, and a much better balanced roster ("so close!"). I could live without a Subspace Emissary, because the game was always so damn fun... and now that its successor is out, I've truly come to understand that Smash games really never replace each other - they're all special in their own ways. I'm looking forward to the future with Ultimate, but Smash 4 will always hold a special place.
